Windows 98/ME Dial-up internet
connection setup instructions

To start the internet connection wizard, Click Start and then select Programs > Accessories > Communications and click Dial-up Networking to open the the Dial-up Networking window.

Step 1
Double Click on " Make new connection "

Step 2
- In the make New connection window, type a name for the computer you will be dialling into.
- It is good practice to give a name that identifies the connection with your service provider, like "Comone" for a connection to ComOne Internet.
- Using the drop down menu, select the modem that you are going to use for this connection.
- You can click configure to make any necessary configuration changes. Refer to Manufacturer's documentation to clear any doubts.
- Click "Next" to continue

Step 3
- Enter 041 in the Telephone number field. Do not put anything in the Area code field.
- Click "Next " to continue

Step 4
Congratulations! Your new connection has been successfully set-up.
- Click finish to complete the setup process.

The new connection appears in the Dial-up Networking window, identified by the name you gave to the connection.
You can double click this new connection to initiate a connection to the internet.
- If the Dial-up networking window is not open, Click Start then select Programs > Accessories > Communications and click Dial-up Networking to open the window.

Enter your Dial-up user name and password
(You can save this setting for
future use)
- Ensure the phone number is 041
- Click "Connect" to connect to the Internet
